The Mona Shindy Foundation Inc

Eradicating the systems that make anyone fall behind.

Australians with culturally and religiously diverse backgrounds remain under-recognised in mainstream narratives and many career paths. This lack of visibility and the discrimination that follows limit belonging, well-being and aspiration. The Foundation meets that gap with lived-experience storytelling and practical, measurable support.

From barriers to pathways

Challenges that became the architecture for change.

The Foundation exists to ensure the next person meets a pathway, not another locked door.

02

Education, technology and material support that remove barriers to participation.

03

Leadership

Mentoring and pathways that equip emerging leaders to belong and lead.

What we do

Programs that turn inspiration into opportunity.

  • 01

    School & community engagement

Ten engagements per program cycle · storytelling, mentoring & coaching

Relatable role models share personal life and career stories in schools and community settings, opening interactive discussions on resilience, leadership and self-belief. Lived experience — not theory — is what shifts aspiration.

  • 02

    Grants, scholarships & IT awards

Needs-based eligibility matrix · subject to available funds

Laptops, grants and scholarships awarded to deserving students to remove the material barriers that block educational and career participation. Inspiration becomes tangible support.

  • 03

    Subsidised student housing

60% of normal cost · nationwide student accommodation roadmap

Safe, affordable boarding homes near university and TAFE campuses for students and other eligible beneficiaries — with a path to registration as a Registered Community Housing Provider.

At the heart of every program is the same thread — relatable role models with lived experience, showing what success looks like and handing the tools to reach for it.
